About Joey Allaham

Born and raised in Damascus, Syria, Allaham moved to New York in 1993 with plans to follow a career in law. Despite his legal ambitions, he found himself with a growing interest in the hospitality industry and he returned to his multigenerational family business of butchering and selling meat, starting a wholesale business for caterers in Brooklyn, New York. In 1999 Allaham began preparations for his first kosher steakhouse restaurant, a dream he realized in the year 2000 with the opening of The Prime Grill, New York City’s first high end kosher steakhouse, forever changing the public perception of kosher food.

Not content to rest on his laurels, Allaham, continued to build the Prime brand with the Prime Hospitality Group, the first restaurant group to specialize in kosher cuisine. Prime at the Bentley, a rooftop restaurant and lounge whose bold, inspired menu includes in-house, dry-aged, USDA Prime Certified Angus Beef and market fresh fish opened in 2012, delighting guests with magnificent views of the East River. That same year, Allaham opened Prime Butcher Baker on the Upper East Side that same year providing kosher consumers with Prime quality ingredients in their own kitchens.

The launch of The Prime Experience in 2014 took Allaham into the premium kosher vacation business and since that time the Prime Hospitality Group has hosted numerous successful events. The jewel of The Prime Experience is its annual Passover program, a highly anticipated annual event that attracts guests from near and far. After two incredibly successful years at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in stunning Laguna Beach, California, The Prime Experience hosted its third Passover at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in trendy Santa Monica where guests enjoyed an incredible Passover in one of the hottest locations on the West Coast, just steps from the Santa Monica Pier. The Prime Experience is heading to Southern California for Passover 2017 to the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines for another spectacular holiday event which, as always, will surround guests in luxury as they enjoy magnificent facilities, superior service, extraordinary programming and, of course, the Prime Group’s legendary cuisine.
